Come brush up on your audition skills before the DCT Main Stage and Children’s Company season generals! Whether you’re a stage veteran or an aspiring performer, this workshop will help you feel more confident, comfortable, and prepared for every audition scenario. In this one-night workshop, Christy McIntosh will go through general audition do’s and don’ts (some of them may surprise you!), how to enter and exit the room with confidence, how to choose the right audition material, how to lay out your sheet music, how to talk to your accompanist, how to handle a cold reading, and learn tips about how to most effectively perform your song/monologue. We will also discuss headshots and proper resume layout. A few select participants will also get to work one-on-one with Christy on their audition material (song or monologue) and get to do a “mock audition” as a trial run before the season generals! You will also get a sneak peak of callback material as cold readings from several of this season’s shows! Christy is a professional voice and audition coach, who has coached her students to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, National Tours, regional theatre, commercials, and more! She is directing this season’s productions of “Hairspray,” “In The Heights,” and “Fancy Nancy.”
Price to attend: $15
Price to work one-on-one with Christy*: $30
Cash/check: paid at the door.
